Celebrating 10 Years of Atlanta Streets Alive

10 years, 29 open streets programs, 83 miles, and 1.7 MILLION participants. From a small pilot on Edgewood Ave in 2010, Atlanta Streets Alive grew to become part of Atlanta's culture. Thank you for participating, volunteering, and supporting this initiative by coming back year after year.

History

In 2020, the 10th anniversary of Atlanta Streets Alive, the pandemic created a pause in our programming. We took the time to examine our approach to open streets because we believe in their power to make the way we move around our city more inclusive and sustainable -- but only if they happen more frequently. At the beginning of 2020, we announced plans to celebrate the 10th Anniversary. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we took our celebrations virtual and planned for the next phase of Atlanta Streets Alive as an official City of Atlanta initiative.
